The Clean Oceans Mission Street Mural. Santa Cruz, California.
Dear Friends of the Oceans,
At Clean Oceans International we work everyday to reduce Plastic Pollution. Many people tell us that we are doing good work and that helps us get up and do it again.
Starting conversation about the Ocean is always a good place to begin working on Ocean health, so we teamed up with a crew of amazingly talented artists and they produced an impressive conversation starter, the Santa Cruz Community Clean Oceans Mural.
This 500’ long underwater scene brightens the sound wall separating Bay View Elementary School from Hwy 1/Mission Street in Santa Cruz California. This is the largest mural project in SC history and has inspired 10 more in 2020. Taylor Reinhold’s Fresh Made Crew transformed a dank and dingy eyesore into a public treasure during September 2019 to keep our community talking about the problems facing our oceans, in particular the global plastic pollution epidemic.
The crew was able to move faster than our fundraising efforts and we still have a few things to finish up. We could use some financial assistance to complete the project and your support will be greatly appreciated. Donors will be recognized on a section of the wall dedicated to that.
Once you begin talking about the beauty of the wall you will probably continue to discuss the beauty of the Oceans, and supporting COI can help with that. We welcome donations too.
Please let us know what you intend for your donation so that it goes where you desire and you receive proper credit for your generosity. Your donation will inspire others to get involved too.
I hope we hear from you soon. We love to discuss Clean, Healthy Oceans. Aloha, Homer
